Princess Peach is a character who sparks a lot of conversation in the Mario fandom and she has a lot of fans along with a fair share of haters. But when it comes to Mario Super Sluggers she is near-universally loved for her defensive skillset. Princess Peach's tall height, great fielding stat, and quick throw ability makes her a solid choice at any of the infield positions. However this neglects what is easily her greatest strength: pitching. Peach has arguably the best curve in the game paired with decent speed and an average captain Star Pitch. The combination allows the player a wide variety of options to trip up the opponent and dominate, as Peach can essentially move the ball wherever and however she wants. Her chemistry tree is great as it connects to five players--eleven total characters when factoring in alts and Pink Mii--which gives the player many options for optimization and creating an item chain on offense. Despite her high skill ceiling and benefits Peach is far from a perfect player. Her movement and running speed are average at best, she can get tired really quickly on the mound if the opponent hits well off her, and her hitting is abysmal. While she has above average contact and a good Star Swing that guarantees a free single or double, she has virtually no hitting power and her Star Swing can be easily countered by having girls in the infield. Even with these flaws Peach is a defensive and pitching gem who is almost always worth picking up.

Countering her star swing: Girls aren’t affected by her star swing. Also, a really good super dive like Kritter’s can evade the hearts to catch the ball.
